Ingredients
Method
- Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, then beat until smooth, about 30 seconds.
- Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix on low just until the dry ingredients disappear, about 1 minute. Do not overmix.
- Fold in 1 cup M&M’s and 1/2 cup white chocolate chips with a spatula until evenly distributed.
- Press the dough into a parchment-lined 9x13-inch metal pan. Press the remaining 2 tbsp M&M’s and 1 tbsp white chocolate chips gently onto the top.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 22 to 25 minutes until edges are golden and the center looks set. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift out, slice into 24 bars, and serve.
Notes
Let the bars cool long enough to handle cleanly, about 15 minutes, before slicing. For the cleanest cuts, use a sharp chef’s knife and wipe the blade between slices.
