Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment. Mix melted butter, sugar, salt, and flour; press evenly into pan. Bake 20 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Meanwhile, toast pecans in the oven or a dry skillet for 5-7 minutes until fragrant. Cool slightly.
- Whisk eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, 1/4 cup melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Fold in pecans and chocolate chips.
- Pour filling over hot crust and spread evenly. Bake 30-35 minutes until edges are set and center has a slight jiggle.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Lift out, slice into 16 squares, and sprinkle with flaky salt if desired.
Notes
The bars need to cool completely before slicing—at least 1 hour. For the neatest squares, chill them for an extra hour in the fridge. A sprinkle of flaky salt right before serving makes all the flavors pop.
