Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Spread the dry chocolate cake mix evenly in an ungreased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, followed by the sweetened condensed milk, covering as much of the powder as possible.
  3. Drop small spoonfuls of peanut butter over the top and scatter the chocolate chips evenly.
  4. Bake for 35 minutes until the edges are golden and the center is set with a slight jiggle.
  5. Let the cake rest 10 minutes, then slice into squares and serve warm.

Notes

The cake will look loose in the center when you pull it from the oven. A 10-minute rest on the counter firms it up just enough to slice cleanly while keeping the middle soft and fudgy. If you prefer a firmer texture, bake an extra 5 minutes.
