Ingredients
Method
- Heat-treat the flour: microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring, until it reaches 165°F (74°C), about 1 to 2 minutes. Let cool completely.
- Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar with an electric mixer on medium until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Mix in vanilla.
- Add cooled flour and salt, mixing on low until crumbly. Drizzle in milk 1 tbsp at a time until the dough is smooth and holds together (2 to 3 tbsp total).
- Fold in chocolate chips. Scoop into bowls and serve, or chill for 20 minutes if you want a firmer texture.
Notes
This dough stays soft and scoopable straight from the fridge, so it’s great for making ahead. If it feels a little too firm after chilling, let it sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before scooping.
