Method
- Whisk together chili powder, lime juice, honey, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper to make the glaze.
- Pat salmon dry and season with additional salt and pepper. Sear skin-side down in an oiled, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat for 3 minutes.
- Flip the salmon, spoon the glaze over the top, then broil on the top rack for 4 to 5 minutes until the glaze is caramelized and the fish flakes easily.
- Transfer to plates, spoon pan juices on top, squeeze fresh lime juice over the fish, and scatter cilantro if using. Serve right away.
Notes
If you don’t have an oven-safe skillet, sear the salmon in a regular pan, then move the fillets to a foil-lined baking sheet for broiling.
