Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch dish. In a saucepan, melt 3 tbsp butter, whisk in flour, cook 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk, Dijon, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Layer the chicken, then ham, then 1 ½ cups Swiss cheese in the dish. Pour sauce evenly over the top.
- Stir panko with 2 tbsp melted butter and the remaining ½ cup Swiss cheese. Scatter over the casserole.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Broil briefly for more color if needed.
- Rest 5 minutes, then scoop and serve with a sprinkle of parsley if you like.
Notes
Let the casserole rest before serving so the sauce sets a bit. If you use rotisserie chicken, the whole recipe comes together in less than 15 minutes of hands-on work.
