Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until browned, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain any fat.
- Slice the rolls in half horizontally without separating them. Place the bottom slab in a baking dish, spread with ketchup and mustard, then top with beef and cheese. Cover with the top slab.
- Mix the melted butter with a pinch of salt and sesame seeds, brush over the rolls, and cover loosely with foil. Bake 10 minutes, then uncover and bake 5 minutes more until golden.
- Let cool 2 minutes, cut between the rolls, and serve hot.
Notes
For an extra-crisp bottom, toast the bottom slab of rolls in the oven for 2 minutes before adding the ketchup and beef.
