Method
- Heat oven to 425°F (220°C). Trim and halve the sprouts and pat them very dry. Toss with oil, salt, and pepper on a rimmed baking sheet and arrange cut sides down in a single layer.
- Roast 20 minutes, then flip and continue roasting 8 to 10 minutes until deeply golden and crisp at the edges.
- Drizzle maple syrup, balsamic, and red pepper flakes over the hot sprouts, toss to coat, and return to the oven for 2 to 3 minutes until the glaze is bubbling and glossy.
- Transfer to a plate immediately, scraping all the glaze from the pan over the top. Serve hot with a pinch of flaky salt.
Notes
Take an extra minute to cut the sprouts evenly so they finish roasting at the same moment. If some halves are much larger than others, quarter them so everything is roughly the same size.
