Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat chicken dry, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat oil in a large oven‑safe skillet over medium‑high heat and sear chicken for about 4 minutes per side until deeply golden.
- Reduce heat to low, add butter to the skillet and melt. Whisk in hot sauce, honey, and onion powder. Simmer for 1 minute until glossy.
- Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over each breast, and transfer to the oven. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from oven and let chicken rest in the pan for 5 minutes. Slice against the grain, spoon extra pan sauce on top, and serve with celery and blue cheese or ranch dressing.
Notes
Letting the chicken rest after baking is key, those 5 minutes let the juices settle so they don’t run out when you slice. If your chicken breasts are particularly thick, the oven time may creep up closer to the 15‑minute mark, so start checking a little early.
