Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour, heat-treated
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tbsp milk
  • Pinch of fine salt
  • ¼ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Microwave the flour on a plate in 30-second bursts, stirring between, until it reaches 165°F (about 1 minute). Cool.
  2. Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth, 2 minutes. Mix in powdered sugar, cocoa, and salt. Add the cooled flour, vanilla, and 1 tbsp milk; blend until a thick dip forms. Add more milk if needed.
  3. Fold in chocolate chips, then transfer to a serving bowl. Serve right away or chill to thicken.

Notes

If you do not have a microwave, toast the flour in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly, for about 3 minutes or until it hits 165°F. Chilling the dip for 30 minutes gives it a stiffer, more brownie-batter-like pull.
