Ingredients
Method
- Butter a 9x13-inch dish. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes and spread evenly in the dish.
- Whisk eggs, milk, 1/3 cup sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Pour over bread and press down gently.
- Scatter blueberries on top, sprinkle with remaining 1 tablespoon sugar, cover, and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Uncover casserole and bake 45–50 minutes until puffed and golden.
- Let rest 5 minutes, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm with maple syrup.
Notes
The uncooked casserole needs at least 4 hours in the fridge, so plan ahead. If you like a deeper purple swirl, stir a handful of the blueberries into the bread before adding the custard.
