Ingredients
Method
- Brown the beef and diced white onion in a skillet over medium-high heat with ¼ teaspoon each garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until no pink remains, about 8-10 minutes. Drain off most of the fat.
- Whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish, vinegar, paprika, and remaining garlic and onion powders until smooth.
- Chop and thoroughly dry the lettuce, then pile it into a large bowl and top with the diced pickles.
- Spoon the warm beef over the lettuce, scatter the cheese, drizzle on most of the sauce, and toss gently. Serve in bowls with an extra drizzle of sauce and sesame seeds.
Notes
The sauce tastes even better after a 15-minute rest in the fridge, so whisk it together first and let it chill while you brown the beef and chop the lettuce. Serve the salad immediately for the best contrast between warm meat and cold crunch.
