Ingredients

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp fine sea salt
  • ¾ cup (180ml) whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

  1. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 320°F (160°C). Grease a 6-inch round cake pan. Stir wet ingredients into dry just until combined, then scrape batter into the pan and smooth the top.
  4. Place pan in the air fryer basket and cook at 320°F for 10 minutes. Check with a toothpick; if needed, cook in 2-minute increments up to 14 minutes until the top is golden and the center is set.
  5. Cool in the pan for 2 minutes, then run a knife around the edge, turn out, slice into wedges, and serve warm.

Notes

If your air fryer runs hot, check a minute early; the pancake is done when a toothpick comes out clean. I like to let the batter sit for 5 minutes before pouring it into the pan for an extra-soft crumb, but it’s not required.
