Ingredients

  • 8 all-beef hot dogs
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Toppings of your choice (diced onion, pickles, jalapeños, coleslaw, etc.)

Method

  1. Preheat grill to medium (350°F to 400°F). Grill hot dogs, turning occasionally, until char marks appear and heated through, 4 to 5 minutes. In the last minute, brush all sides with barbecue sauce and let glaze for 30 seconds.
  2. Brush cut sides of buns with melted butter. Grill cut-side down until lightly golden, about 1 minute.
  3. Place each hot dog in a toasted bun. Spoon extra barbecue sauce on top, add desired toppings, and serve immediately.

Notes

If you’re cooking for a crowd, grill the dogs in batches and keep them warm in a 200°F oven. You can double the sauce with no other adjustments.
