Ingredients

  • 4 ears of corn, shucked
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt, to finish

Method

  1. Heat a grill to medium-high. Grill the corn, turning often, until charred all over, 10 to 12 minutes.
  2. Brush the corn all over with barbecue sauce and grill 2 to 3 minutes more, until the sauce bubbles and darkens.
  3. Transfer to a platter, drizzle with melted butter, and sprinkle with smoked paprika and salt.
  4. Pile onto a plate and serve while hot and sticky.

Notes

A Kansas City-style sweet sauce balances the char especially well. If you crave more heat, brush the ears with a thin layer of hot sauce before the barbecue sauce hits them.
