- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium‑high. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sear for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden.
- Pour in the BBQ sauce, scraping up any browned bits. Cover, reduce heat to medium‑low, and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F. Shred the chicken with two forks and return it to the sauce.
- While the chicken cooks, melt the butter and brush it onto the cut sides of the slider buns. Toast buttered‑side down on a skillet or griddle over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes until golden.
- Spoon the shredded chicken generously onto the bottom halves of the toasted buns. Top with pickles if you like.
- Close the buns, arrange the sliders, and serve right away.
Notes
For a crowd, double everything and keep the sauced chicken warm in a slow cooker on the “keep warm” setting so guests can build their own.
