Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup smoky BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup ranch dressing
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Kosher salt, a pinch
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, stir together the cream cheese, BBQ sauce, ranch dressing, garlic powder, pepper, and salt until smooth.
  2. Fold in the shredded chicken and half of the cheddar cheese until evenly mixed.
  3. Transfer the mixture to an 8x8 baking dish, spread it even, and top with the remaining cheddar. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the edges are bubbling and the cheese is golden in spots.
  4. Remove from the oven, top with sliced green onions, and serve immediately with chips or veggies.

Notes

Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before mixing—it'll blend smoothly in half the time. Leftovers reheat well; just know the cheese might separate if microwaved too long, so stir after every 30-second burst.
