Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning, plus extra for topping
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 8 oz lump crab meat, picked over
  • Sliced green onions or chives, for serving

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, 1 tsp Old Bay, lemon juice, Worcestershire, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt until smooth.
  2. Gently fold in the crab meat and 3/4 cup of the cheddar, keeping the crab lumps intact.
  3. Spread into a small baking dish, top with remaining 1/4 cup cheddar, and bake 20 to 25 minutes until bubbly.
  4. Broil 1 to 2 minutes until golden and blistered, top with green onions, and serve hot.

Notes

If you want to get ahead, assemble the dip up to a day in advance, cover and refrigerate, then bake from cold adding about 5 to 10 minutes. A sprinkle of extra Old Bay and a squeeze of lemon right before serving brightens everything.
