Ingredients
Method
- Combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit until foamy, then mix in remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, salt, and flour. Knead 6 to 8 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a 12x16 inch rectangle. Brush with soft butter, then spread with apple butter mixed with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up tightly, seal the seam, and slice into 12 rolls. Arrange in a greased 9x13 inch pan.
- Cover and let rise 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake 22 to 25 minutes until golden.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls and serve.
Notes
The times above reflect active work and baking only; rising adds about 1.5 to 2 hours. For overnight rolls, assemble and slice into the pan the night before, cover, and refrigerate, then let them come to room temperature while the oven preheats.
