Ingredients
Method
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Whisk soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and 2 tbsp water in a small bowl.
- Pat chicken dry, place in a bowl, and toss with half the sauce. Reserve the rest for glazing.
- Arrange chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook 5 minutes, flip, and cook another 5 to 7 minutes until 165°F.
- Brush reserved sauce over chicken and air fry 1 more minute until glossy and bubbling.
- Rest chicken 2 minutes, slice against the grain, and serve over rice with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
If you like a little heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. The chicken can marinate in the sauce for up to 2 hours, but the no-marination version still delivers plenty of flavor.
