Ingredients

  • 1 lb jumbo lump crab meat, drained and patted dry
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • A few cracks of black pepper
  • Olive oil spray

Method

  1. Whisk the mayonnaise, egg, Dijon, Worcestershire, Old Bay, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth. Gently fold in the panko and crab just until combined.
  2. Scoop the mixture into 8 patties (about 1/4 cup each) onto a parchment-lined plate. Refrigerate 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Spray the basket and patties lightly with oil. Air fry 5 minutes, flip, spray again, and cook 5 to 7 minutes more until deep golden.
  4. Plate the crab cakes, squeeze lemon over the top, and serve right away with tartar sauce.

Notes

Chilling time is not included in the prep time. For the best texture, use jumbo lump crab and handle the mixture as little as possible while shaping.
