Ingredients
Method
- Whisk flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In a separate cup, mix milk, egg, and oil. Pour wet into dry and stir just until a thick batter forms.
- Pat hot dogs dry, insert skewers, and dip each one into the batter, letting excess drip off.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Spray the basket, place 2 coated hot dogs, spray tops with oil, and cook 4 minutes. Flip, spray again, and cook 4 to 5 minutes more until golden. Repeat.
- Let cool 2 minutes, then serve with mustard, ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
If the batter drips off the hot dogs, stir in an extra tablespoon of flour. No need to soak wooden skewers before air frying; the short cook time keeps them from scorching.
