Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tbsp aluminum-free baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup Frank’s RedHot original sauce
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing, for serving

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken wings completely dry, then toss with the baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
  2. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  3. Cook for 12 minutes, flip, and continue cooking another 12 to 15 minutes until deeply golden and crisp.
  4. Whisk the hot sauce and melted butter in a large bowl, then toss the hot wings straight from the air fryer until evenly coated.
  5. Pile onto a platter, surround with celery sticks, and serve immediately with blue cheese or ranch for dipping.

Notes

If your air fryer runs hot, check a few minutes early. Wings that finish ahead of schedule will still be crisp; just hold them in a warm oven while the rest cook.
