Ingredients

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts

Method

  1. Whisk together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until smooth.
  2. Pour over chicken in a bag or dish and marinate 30 minutes to 4 hours in the fridge.
  3. Remove chicken, let excess marinade drip off, and cook over medium-high heat 6-7 minutes per side until 165°F.
  4. Rest 5 minutes, slice against the grain, and spoon pan juices over the top.

Notes

If you want a thicker glaze, boil a few tablespoons of reserved fresh marinade for 1 minute and drizzle over the sliced chicken. Resting the chicken is not optional — those 5 minutes keep the meat from drying out.
