- Combine the cranberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture boils.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, 10 to 12 minutes.
- Spoon the sauce into a serving bowl and let it cool for 10 minutes before serving warm.
Notes
If using frozen cranberries, there is no need to thaw them first. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools, so pull it off the heat when it is slightly looser than you want the final texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
